For twenty-one years, Ernest Hemingway lived at the Finca Vigía (Lookout Farm) in San Francisco de Paula, Cuba. The author left Cuba in 1960 and never returned. Over the years, his beloved home fell into disrepair. Now thanks to the joint efforts of Hemingway's former steward, René Villarreal, the Finca Vigía Foundation, the Cuban government's Office of Cultural Patrimony, and the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the Finca Vigía has been restored to its former glory.

What is not widely known is that the FBI's surveillance of Hemingway may have led to his suicide.
