Patrick Hemingway is the second son of Ernest Hemingway and his second wife Pauline Pfeiffer.
After graduating from Harvard University in 1950, Patrick used the inheritance money from his mother's death to buy a 2300 acre farm in Africa. In 1955, he started his own safari company, Tanganyika Tour Safaris and later was a teacher at Wildlife Management College in Tanzania.
Patrick is still active in promoting his father's memory. He participates in Hemingway festivals, conferences, etc., and serves on the advisory board for the Hemingway Foundation of Oak Park, Illinois. He also edited his father's book, True at First Light, which was published posthumously in 1999.
Patrick currently lives in Bozeman, Montana with his second wife.
