Lorian Hemingway is the first child of Gregory Hemingway and Shirley Jane Rhodes.
She is a critically acclaimed author whose 1998 book, Walk on Water, received a Pulitzer Prize nomination.
Lorian founded the Lorian Hemingway Short Story Competition in 1981. Open to unpublished U.S. and international writers, the competition offers a first prize of $1,000 and a second and third prize of $500 each. According to the Competition's official web site: "the contest draws between 800 and 1100 entries each year from around the U.S. and other countries as far-flung as India and Romania."
